Perigord Retreats in Dordogne, France

My most popular class now as a retreat in France! This will transport you back to a romantic period of time with classic architecture and vintage women with hints of gold in rich layers that feel timeless inspired by the surroundings and sites of Perigord Retreats.

Learn how to create interesting textures in your artwork with paint, paper, mark making, collage, gold leafing, mono printing, transfers, charcoal and classic line drawing….and so much more! Fill up your art journals with inspiration and then learn how to translate the beauty of France in your own timeless artworks. We will take these real life locations and learn how to translate them into abstract wild experimentations, bringing the real and the unknown together in glorious self-expression. What better place than in the heart of the Dordogne Valley of France!

Patterns of Portugal

Patterns of Portugal by Kellee Wynne Studios (10).jpg

Join Kellee for her new mixed media project where we will explore layers from another time. Patterns from Portuguese tiles are the main source of our inspiration as we create backgrounds for our window or door images. Learn to carve your own stamp from pink rubber that you’ll then be able to use it to create more pattern paper to use in your project.

Kellee will guide you through the stamp design process, how to transfer and cut your design to make clean images for your rubber stamps. She will then help you explore the collage process of mixed media and all the many ways to add patterns to your artwork with paint and paper. We will then finish with either a sketch or transfer of a beautiful vintage door or window for your final focal point. Learning these techniques will become invaluable to your mixed media process and can be applied in hundreds of new and exciting ways.

Abstract Brushstrokes: A True Colors Foundation Class

Abstract Brushstokes True Colors Art Program Foundation Class Acrylic Painting with Kellee Wynne Studios.png

This is the acrylic painting foundation class you’ve been waiting for! We will be exploring how to make our mark, literally, with the brush to achieve all different types of results when we paint. Keeping it strictly abstract this time, we will be able to play with our paint just to get the best feel for how it all moves together on the canvas. Learn how to pick an appealing color palette to make an effective abstract painting that relies completely on the harmony of your colors and the design you make when the brush touches the canvas.

We will learn which brushes to use, the purpose of each medium, how to blend and transition colors, how to pick a pleasing palette, design and composition for abstract painting and alternative mark making without a brush.

You’ll walk away from Abstract Brushstrokes with a better understanding of the materials, marks and mediums used when painting with acrylic paints.

The True Colors Art Program is an ongoing series of painting courses designed by Kellee Wynne Studios to help any artist learn the foundation of acrylic painting while still having fun. Let’s build confidence while finding your true style in an easy, relaxed setting. By painting in an abstract manner, you can approach the canvas with the confidence of knowing that anything goes when you’re creating loose and free.
